Annotation The English existential psychologist R. Laing’s thesis that all other certainties depend upon ontological security is empirically tested in terms of self-confidence. The author’s theoretical and empirical construct of ontological certainty is compared with V. G. Romek’s theoretical and empirical construct created through a series of self-confidence tests.
