The countries of Inner Asia with intracontinental economical-geographical
position, carry the biggest part of loads by land. Land transport is more expensive
than shipping; it reduces the competitiveness of continental countries in comparison with
seafaring countries. The borderland interaction of Inner Asia countries can be a softening
mechanism of their continentality (remoteness from year round navigation ports), raising
their competitiveness and overcoming the economic asymmetry between them and seafaring
countries.
