Annotation The article considers the psychological readiness of the individual to extreme stress from the perspective of the subject-environmental approach. It describes the classification of extreme effects on the basis of their spatial and temporal characteristics and the nature of the prevailing assessment of extremality. It offers a model of the personal resources system, contributing to a constructive overcome of the extreme influence and constituting psychological readiness to emergency and crisis situations of the situational and biographical level. The article describes the developed system of psychological support of people living in areas with extreme life conditions (for example, Kamchatsky Krai) and presents theoretical and methodological assumptions underlying the psychological support of people living in areas with extreme life conditions and general principles for its implementation. The authors describe the programs that are implemented at different levels of psychological support of the population and present the data on testing a set of programs that implement the model of psychological support of people living in areas with extreme life conditions.
