The article is about Sven Hedin - a famous Swedish geographer, a researcher of Central
Asia. Hedin visited Transbaikalia twice and left interesting memoirs about it in the book
«From Beijing to Moscow». He supported contacts with the chairman of the Geographical
Society in Kyakhta Peter Mikhno. The article publishes letters from the personal Hedin’s
archive, these materials are now in Swedish State Archive.
