Annotation An approximate method of calculating the amount of heat that drill mud delivers into the permafrost, surrounding the hole. The differential equations of thermal balance for a well with a thermally insulated wall are derived. To calculate the actual temperature distribution a correction factor is used. Our results are illustrated by the test calculations presented in a kind of graphic.
Key words the well, permafrost, thermal conductivity
