The article grounds the necessity to give a systemic analysis for the aftereffects of human interaction with
ecologically troubled living environment. The notion ‘living environment’ implies all natural and social conditions
and factors, which influence the development of man’s psyche. Mentality can be diagnosed according to the description
of man’s psychological status, which is a systemic characteristic of the man – living environment system
and an integral indicator of man’s current psychic activity degree. The paper presents the results of the empirical
study of the psychological status of the children’s population living in ecologically unfavorable regions of the
Zabaikalsky Krai and highlights that these children tend to have degraded psychological status performance as the
main consequence of their interaction with the ecologically unfavorable living environment.
