Annotation The article grounds the necessity to give a systemic analysis for the aftereffects of human interaction with ecologically troubled living environment. The notion ‘living environment’ implies all natural and social conditions and factors, which influence the development of man’s psyche. Mentality can be diagnosed according to the description of man’s psychological status, which is a systemic characteristic of the man – living environment system and an integral indicator of man’s current psychic activity degree. The paper presents the results of the empirical study of the psychological status of the children’s population living in ecologically unfavorable regions of the Zabaikalsky Krai and highlights that these children tend to have degraded psychological status performance as the main consequence of their interaction with the ecologically unfavorable living environment.
