| Annotation |
The article deals with the genre of autobiography and its peculiarities. The study of this genre
reveals that autobiography is of ambiguous nature and combines many features that are often
contradictory. The author concludes that generalizations concern only the typical structure of the
genre: autobiographical works often adopt the form of the first-person narration and are written
by authors with great life experience. The first lines of such works suggest that they are about the
author’s life story.
