Annotation |
This article provides an analysis of mass media texts that form the image of China for Russian
readers. It describes the methods of nominating persons that are characteristic for the Russian press
and compares them with the methods of nomination which are used in Chinese mass media texts.
It dwells upon the ways of representing Chinese culture in printed texts about Chinese music and
performing arts with a particular emphasis on Chinese opera. The author reviews texts about Chinese
literature and pays special attention to mass media texts about martial arts that are an essential part
of Chinese life. This article analyses how everyday life is represented in the Russian mass media.
The familiarity of Russian readers with Chinese culture is extremely important for the successful
development of friendly relations between the two countries.
