The article is devoted to the poetics of Nabokov’s landscapes. Entomologically marked
landscape is an integrated landscape that helps the author to approach the truth. Time is
abolished in the entomologically marked landscape. Eternal summer prevails and the space
acquires divine properties; it becomes omniscious. Poetics of the entomologically marked
landscape suggests that not only Russian literature but also entomology were Nabokov’s
spiritual “motherland”. Nabokov keeps to the principle of mimicry of metamorphosis.
Consequently, he depicts complete mergence of the characters body with the universe.
Nabokov’s ecstatic landscape eliminates psychological parallelism. Its pathos lies in
equality rather than similarity.
