| Annotation |
One of the features of contemporary reality is the emergence of children deprived of their
family. This paper deals with the category of children who are temporarily or permanently devoid
of their family environment and don’t have the legal status of “orphan” or “child”. The author
analyzes the factors and conditions of the emergence of the street children phenomenon. These
factors are: existence of crime situation, marital status, objective situation, psychology of children,
youth subculture and information factor. The author examines social groups of street children and
suggests that presence of such groups is a sign of adverse society. Social work with street children
aimed at establishment of the trust relationship is described. It is important that children are actively
involved in the discussion of important issues related to changes in their lives. Methods of
street social work are characterized.
