Occasional vocabulary is explored in Eugenie Yevtushenko’s creative work. The occasional
vocabulary is rather various, but the main part includes four parts of speech – nouns,
adjectives, verbs and adverbs. The most significant part consists of nouns, among which
compound occasional nouns are of special interest. As a rule, a compound noun has more
than one meaning that is because of its structural and semantic formation. Nouns and
adjectives are formed mainly on basis of productive models of the language. An adjective
is closely grammatically connected with a noun in the Russian language. In poetry there is
the same tendency in creating occasional adjectives as when speaking about nouns, they
are formed on basis of productive models of the language. After analyzing the lyrics, it is seen that the process of forming of compound potential and occasional adjectives is more
commonly observed. Occasional verb take a special place in Yevtushenko’s lyrics. They
are characterized by combining the meaning of the action itself with the goals, conditions
and the manner of this action. There are sometimes Yevtushenko’s poems in which one
can observe several new formations with several meanings in one quatrain. Concerning
the verb in Yevtushenko’s poems not the process of forming occasional lexemes is typical,
but the process of modification of the existing usual forms. It is very typical of Yevtushenko’s
poetry to use a lot of prefixes, suffixes and prefixoids.
A participle, being an attributive verbal form and having categorical properties of both a
verb and an adjective, can show specific features in a poetic text. In Yevtushenko’s poetry
passive past participles which usually develop qualitative features both processual and associative
are mostly used and modified. In such passive constructions the action is more
often the sign of state, resulting from the action.
