The information about the rare form of asparagus – Asparagus brachyphyllus Turcz. in the flora of Russia is presented in the article. It is known by isolated findings only in eastern Transbaikalia, where the northern boundary of the range passes. It is in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation and the Red Data Book of Chita Oblast and Aginsky Buryat Autonomous Okrug, and it has the status of “rare species”. This species is introduced in the List of flora objects registered in the Red Book of Zabaikalsky krai. On the territory of eastern Transbaikalia, A. brachyphyllus grows in alkali soil steppes, on the shores of salinas, it relates to Achnatherum splendens (Trin.) Nevski communities. The new locations of A. brachyphyllus in Zabaikalsky krai are described in the article. One of the discovered cenopopulations is considerably removed from the areal boundary. A. brachyphyllus was for the first time described on the territory of Aginsky Buryat Okrug. In the paper, there are the species composition lists of identified habitats according to which A. brachyphyllus also prefers communities with A. splendens beyond its areal. It is noted that asparagus cenopopulations are subjected to anthropogenic impact in places of findings, in this connection the measures for preservation of this species in Zabaikalsky krai are proposed.
