The IV th International Scientific Conference “Cranes of Palearctic: Biology, Conservation, Management” was held in the year of the 35th anniversary of the Crane Working Group of Eurasia. It was a bright event in the ornithological world. 53 experts on crane research and conservation from 37 national agencies of eight countries and seven international nature conservation organizations attended the conference in Utochi Station of the Daursky State Nature Biosphere Reserve on September 1–4, 2015. Conference participants presented reports on current status of Siberian (Leucogeranus leucogeranus), White-naped (Antigone vipio), Red-crowned (Grus japonensis), Hooded (G. monacha), Eurasian (G. grus) and Demoiselle (Anthropoides virgo) cranes, their biology, migrations, wintering as well as captive breeding, reintroduction, research techniques, education, and actual problems on conservation of their habitats. Materials of the conference are published in the fifth issue of the conference proceedings “Cranes of Eurasia (Biology, Distribution, Captive Breeding”, 2015. In addition, some articles on crane research and conservation by ornithologists who couldn’t attend the conference were published in the proceedings.
