| Annotation |
The article deals with the modern problems of volunteering in the Republic of Dagestan, we analyzed the experience of volunteer work, organizational forms and directions of their activities, motivation to participate in volunteer activities and the impact of voluntary initiatives on self-management and self-realization of young people. Data of theoretical and empirical nature cited in the article, the main scientific results obtained by the author show that students participating in voluntary social activities provide the most intensive development of their social activity as socially significant activity corresponds to the needs of self-affirmation and recognition of real significance of the student as a member of society. And if this kind of activity is organized properly, it provides formation of the corresponding need-motivational sphere of the person when the need to express himself as a person, a creative approach to the common cause, caring for others, the desire to benefit others become a way of his life. Our own survey of members of volunteer associations in universities has demonstrated that their activities are similar to the groups of interest, they are of nonrecurrent, small-town character, i. e., there is no system activity. We believe that one of the effective ways to organize volunteer activities that can give impetus to the development of volunteerism on a mass scale is the creation of voluntary associations in universities. This will systematically solve problems involving students in socially meaningful activities.
