Annotation The article is devoted to very relevant theme in the modern conditions. Nowadays, the system of education searches for the new approaches to the organization of the educational system, which must meet the demands of the modern economy and the labor market. Training of modern graduates of vocational educational institutions must be targeted and conducted by the employers’ requests. For this purpose, a reconciliation of competences of the educational program in accordance with the new generation of Federal State Educational Standards and standard of professional activity should be carried out. There was a transition from the idea of “learn to learn” to the idea of “learn to learn and work” and this task must be fulfilled by modern educational institutions. Nowadays the approach known in the Soviet times is actualized. According to this approach a specialist is prepared at the workplace, combining theoretical training (at the university) and practice (at the plant), this education is developing as a the dual one now. This is especially significant for the system of secondary vocational education as the industry of modern production is characterized as high-tech and secondary vocational education is developing in two directions. On the one hand, it prepares technicians, on the other hand, highly skilled workers. Building a system of training is a complicated task for the organization of all aspects of such training, it requires appropriate scientific and methodological support. The article deals with the experience of a number of professional educational institutions in which the dual education system is developing successfully. The participation of young graduates in the championships of professional skills and “WorldSkills Russia” movement is relevant today.
