Annotation The article touches upon the author’s interpretation of the application of N. Luman’s theory of evolution to the processes of self-organization in the students’ environment. The theory of evolution is not regarded as a theory of progress; it can also lead to the creation and to the destruction of systems, it refers to structural changes. The emergence of new essential forms and substances is explained due to the presence of differences (variation, selection, restabilization). Since the separation of these evolutionary functions is applicable to social systems, the author considers the use of this theoretical and methodological platform for forming students’ collective structures. The cases of positive and negative selection are described. The author brings into focus the position that the probability of forming a collective unity depends on such variables as the density of communications, the frequency of information pulses. Operation (communication) relation enables the evolution of social structures. The author makes an assumption what conceptual innovations can give life to the processes of self-organization in the socio-cultural environment of the university. It is considered that the communication originality and innovative specimens can serve as the basis of forming structures characterized by innovations. The arguments which are discussed in the article must be further studied from a perspective of the designated problems.
Key words self-organization of students, evolutionary approach, socio-cultural environment, conditions, variation, selection, restabilization, communication, structure forming, management action
