| Annotation |
The article is devoted to the analysis of directions for the study of regional cultures as ways of refracting historical socio-cultural experience in the individual sphere of a person and in the life of regional communities, the features of culture existence in a particular social space. The objectives for studying regional cultures are to determine translation mechanisms of their cultural experience, to reveal existent cultural communications specifics and to analyze the dynamics processes of specific regional cultures. The most important task is to consider the role of regional cultures in the formation of Russian culture, despite the fact that the concept of “Russian culture” is not currently established and meaningfully determined. The analysis of Russian culture as a cultural integrity requires to identify its typological features and basic cultural universals that have developed with the integration of regional cultures values. This requires a historical and cultural analysis of the existence of regional forms of culture and their interaction in the Russian Empire, the USSR, post-perestroika Russia, and an understanding of what is the basis of the integrity of culture as such. The theoretical aspect of determining the content of Russian culture, its general meanings, basic universals, revealing the role of regional cultures in them is connected with the practice of socio-cultural forecasting and cultural policy.
