Annotation In the article, we discuss a problem of teaching physics for future doctors in medical institutions of higher education in the aspect of the process of transformation of higher professional medical education. The comparative analysis of educational standards for a number of medical specialties is presented, namely: General Practitioner, Pediatrics, and Stomatology. The main sources, factors, principles of formation of the content of physics in medical institutions of higher education are indicated, which is regarded as the unity and interrelation of the fundamental and professionally oriented components. The professionally oriented component of physics is revealed in physical issues of a professionally oriented nature that have been singled out for all sections of physics in medical higher school. The author’s classification of physical issues of a professionally oriented character is described in accordance with two criteria: a human body as an object of study and the types of professional activities of the doctor. This classification includes seven types of physical professionally oriented issues. The article deals with the professionally oriented physical tasks and tasks as a special means of forming a future physician’s ability to solve professional problems on the basis of physical knowledge and skills. The author’s model of the content of professionally oriented physics tasks is given. The model is based on the human body as an object of study and the types of professional activity of a future doctor. The author’s classification of professionally oriented physics tasks is presented, which includes three main types of these tasks. The examples of professionally oriented physics tasks suggested by the authors are given. Based on the analysis of the results of the study conducted, we conclude that the use of physics issues, physics tasks of professionally oriented character in the process of teaching physics for future doctors contributes to the formation of professional competence among students of medical institutions of higher education that they may need in the future professional activity.
