Annotation The current socio-cultural situation currently entails a change in the strategies of education of a worthy citizen of his Motherland, the formation of its spirituality and morality in the creation of equal rights and freedoms. The author raises questions of theoretical study of the problem of spiritual and moral education in the context of gender socialization. The essence of the concepts of “spirituality”, “morality”, “gender”, “social role”, “gender socialization”, “gender education”, “spiritual and moral education” is revealed. As a working hypothesis, such pedagogical conditions as identification of the essence of the main categories of the topic under consideration, definition of the author’s own position on the content and relationship of the concepts under consideration, as well as the substantiation of the idea of interrelation and mutual enrichment of the concepts of “spiritual and moral education” and “gender socialization” are proposed. The author uses the following methods of historical and pedagogical research: study and analysis of philosophical, cultural, sociological, psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem of research of dissertations of normative documents and materials of Internet resources; systematization; comparative analysis; generalization. The article defines the prospects for further theoretical development of the idea of unity of spiritual and moral education and gender-role socialization. The author comes to the conclusion that at present the problem is debatable and remains open, requiring a comprehensive study. It is an ambiguous understanding of the nature of the studied phenomena and the content of the processes under consideration that leads to inconsistency in their practical implementation in the entire system of social institutions. To solve this problem, the author proposes, first of all, the development of theoretical provisions of gender-role socialization in unity with the spiritual and moral education of the individual.
