Annotation Geographical science refers both to the system of natural and social sciences, which makes it difficult to perceive its position and significance for the preparation of students of non-geographic profiles. The leading method of research is positioning, as revealing the positions of geography in the curricula and proposing measures to change them. Geography in curriculums on non-geographic dimensions (profiles) occupies a different position, entering into various blocks: basic (in the direction “Ecology and Nature Management”), compulsory (for the direction “Service”) and disciplines of choice (profile “Technology and Economics”). For some profiles, geographic disciplines are the realization of a territorial approach, a kind of inventory of a phenomenon on the surface of the Earth, and for others, these are geographic concepts and theories act as an instrument for understanding the world around them. It is this value that explains the different position of geographical disciplines in the curricula of various profiles. The orientation of geography, as an inter-departmental subject, is not in the universality of knowledge for all specialties, but in uniqueness for each direction (profile). Each profile should have its own geography, only understandable for it, and geography oriented on it. Promising for geography is the promotion of non-geographic directions (profiles) as a discipline of choice, which will allow not only to supplement basic and compulsory disciplines, since in its territorialization natural, social and ecological processes receive new properties “falling out of view” of profile disciplines, but help professional self-realization of geographers working in non-geographic departments.
