Annotation The article highlights environmental upbringing of children as the strategic direction of educational activity in kindergartens. The author differentiates the environmental upbringing from the environmental training in the whole educational process of preschoolers. The area of proximal development involves the interconnection of environmental upbringing and environmental training. Differentiation of these processes allows you to learn deeper the environmental upbringing of children in the area of proximal development and define the necessary conditions. The psychological and pedagogical conditions of environmental upbringing are the following: the use of the closest natural and social environment as the source of environmental upbringing of preschoolers; use of ecological systems approach for organization of cognitive research of children; provision and support of cognitive motivation of children; use of methods and technologies of environmental upbringing appropriate for children age; recognition of each child as a subject of his own activity; establishing of person-person interaction between a teacher and children; orientation of the teacher to the individual characteristics of children; reflective analysis with children as the result of interaction with nature; сreating conditions for embodiment of emotional and sensual experience and ideas in individual creativity; providing opportunities for affirmation of the social significance of child’s creativity. The psychological and pedagogical conditions of environmental upbringing will help children to enrich the emotional-sensual experience of interaction with nature, to form in children adequate realities about objects, phenomena and interrelations in nature, to bring up careful attitude to environment in preschoolers, to develop subjective personality qualities.
