Annotation In regard of the phenomenon of destructiveness as a social and cultural-anthropological phenomenon of a transitive society, the discourse of extremism is analyzed. The concepts of “radicalism”, “extremism”, “extremist consciousness”, and “extremist attitudes” are considered as particular manifestations of the phenomenon of destructiveness in anthropological context. It is proved that the prevention of extremism and its manifestations among young people is the most promising area of theoretical and empirical research in ensuring national security, since this population class is characterized by a higher extremist activity, caused by incomplete socialization process, insufficient social and psychological maturity, categorical perception of social contradictions. A preventive approach is presented, considering the cumulative effect of social and psychology-pedagogical extremism risk factors. There were investigated 32 indicators of extremist manifestations from the perspective of multidimensional scaling. It has been established empirically that the leading risk factors acting as the main manifestations of extremist attitudes among the youth sample are: self-control (0,824), conventional coercion (0,765) and selfishness (0,662). Factor loads demonstrate a strong and medium degree of connection between these indicators, and the vector of direct positive connection explains the mechanism of extremist attitudes appearing among young people. The empirical basis of developing a system of preventive work in educational organizations is presented, based on a conceptual vision through a preventive paradigm.
