Annotation Due to the various changes taking place in modern life, including due to Covid-19, education is undergoing significant transformations. The modernization of the education system in Russia and around the world in accordance with the digitalization of society prompted teachers to quickly switch to the online learning mode, for which not everyone was ready. Many educational organizations that previously did not want to change the traditional approach to education had no other option but to switch to mixed or completely online learning. Based on a comparative analysis, the article concludes that it is possible to use pedagogical design technology in the development of materials, including e-learning courses, for the organization of distance and mixed learning formats. The strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and problems in the development of e-learning courses and the stages of their design are analyzed in the article. The authors give examples of individual components of e-learning courses developed at the Transbaikal State University by graduate students as future teachers. The main ideas of pedagogical design presented in this article serve as the methodological base of the research. The article substantiates that the technology of pedagogical design is intended to serve as support for students as future teachers who are starting to develop their electronic educational courses. The authors show how such digital resources can be used in the educational process, how they can affect the quality of education. The article discusses the possibility of further use of the technology of pedagogical design for the development of e-learning courses and teaching this academic group of students within the framework of special disciplines of the curriculum.
