Annotation The article actualizes the problem of preparing preschool teachers for work in early age groups. Competence-based and technological approaches to the training of future teachers are considered as methodological approaches. The competencies necessary for future professional activity in early age groups are described. Practice-oriented learning is considered as an effective means of enrichment and formation of demanded professional competencies. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of the technology of professional activity modeling into the educational process of the university. At the same time, it is emphasized that this technology contributes to the formation of professional competencies among students. The idea of V. I. Blinov and other scientists about the leading role of self-education, self-development in the educational process of the university is actualized. Examples of the organization of practical classes in the study of disciplines focused on the early development of children in preschool education, on interaction with the parents of pupils are given. The use of practice-oriented technologies in educational activities requires from students, according to the authors of the article, the ability to work with various sources of information, knowledge of the socialization features, individualization and development of young children, as well as knowledge of modern forms of interaction with parents and the ability to model them in practice. Work programs for preparing preschool teachers for work in early age groups in the disciplines “Peculiarities of the organization of educational activities in early age groups” and “Methodological support for the organization of educational activities in early age groups” are presented. The purpose of the programs is described as preparing preschool teachers to work in early age groups, to provide psychological and pedagogical support for young children, as well as counseling parents of young children. In accordance with the program, a set of educational and methodological materials has been developed.
