Annotation The article, devoted to the influence of the family on the social development of children, analyzes and highlights: the tasks of the family and their content in the context of socialization and social development; the potential of family attitudes in relation to the social development of children of early and preschool age; responsible parenting options. The interpretation of modern research allowed the author to substantiate the essential characteristics of the influence of the family on the social development and socialization of children, the content of family attitudes that affect social development; the importance of maternal participation in the social development of the child, effective methods of family education, as well as highlight family mistakes that impede harmonious social development; parameters and essence of the phenomenon of responsible parenthood, the importance of the moral values of the family in the social development of the child. The results of the study allowed the author to draw conclusions about the potential of the modern family in terms of social development and socialization of children of early and preschool age; on the need to create an interdepartmental social institution for the support and pedagogical education of parents.
