Annotation The article substantiates the author’s position that studying of childhood as a strategic resource of Russia’s cultural sovereignty is a new scientific problem that reflects undeveloped issues in the field of psychological and pedagogical research, as well as the methodology and methods of raising children. The aim of the study is to research the essential characteristics of the concepts of “cultural sovereignty”, “childhood”, “strategic resource”, “value potential of childhood” in the context of interdisciplinary research and the formation of their working definitions. The research work is based on the assumption that threats to the cultural sovereignty of Russia are in the sphere of influence on children, imposing values and worldview positions to children’s community, that contradict traditional national spiritual and moral values. The methodological basis of the research work has become the axiological, culturological, socio-cultural approaches. General logical research methods are used for the purposes of the research work (analysis, synthesis, generalization, analogy, modeling, etc.), which ensured the complexity, consistency, integrity of representation of the research subject and the possibility of forming the author’s view and scientific substantiation of the main aspects of the research. As a result of the research work, the author substantiates the specifics and crisis development risks of the current situation of preserving Russia’s cultural sovereignty in the context of the country’s security general problem. The research presents normative, conceptual and scientific views to the concepts of “cultural sovereignty”, “strategic resource”, “childhood”. The author substantiates the necessity of procuring a set of systemic measures to form the value potential of childhood in Russia as a strategic resource for Russia’s cultural sovereignty. The author refers modern trends and practices of education to systemic measures based on improving the forms and methods of countering the risks of the spread of destructive ideology in the children’s environment; improving the forms and methods of raising children in accordance with the goals of state policy for the preservation and strengthening of traditional values. The results obtained to the importance of studying the phenomenon of childhood as a source of Russia’s cultural sovereignty and as a new scientific problem. The research work materials and results can be used to develop new scientific problems in childhood sphere studying and in a new upbringing methodology, as well as in the production and retraining of teaching staff.
