Annotation The relevance of the study of the psychological competence of teachers of secondary vocational education is determined by the specifics of the teaching staff of secondary vocational education of medical institutions: teachers – practitioners – medical workers; the role of the teacher in the formation of psychological culture among students – future medical workers; increased attention to the psychological support of the educational environment; an increase in the importance of managing the development of a teacher’s professional competence. The novelty of the study is determined by the use of the case-study method for the diagnosis and development of psychological competence among teachers of secondary vocational education in medical institutions. We proceeded from the suggestion that the analysis of actually described situations of educational and extracurricular interaction will contribute to the development of the psychological competence of teachers of medical colleges. For this purpose, we used: case situations with questions and tasks developed by us, a content analysis method for evaluating the implementation of cases, an expert evaluation method for ensuring the validity of cases, a quantitative method (Janis coefficient) that forms an experiment. The results of the study have made it possible to formulate the following conclusions: 1) case situations can be used to study the psychological competence of teachers of secondary vocational education; 2) the severity of the components of psychological competence among teachers of secondary vocational education is presented as follows: skills that ensure understanding of the emotional state of others and managing their emotions are represented by naming emotions of tension and self-evaluative emotions (without justification); skills that provide an understanding of different ways of solving problems have not been identified (the named methods are typical for all situations and repeat the actions described in the case); actions that provide a solution to the problem are expressed by a fifth of the teachers who have experience in constructive problem solving. The developed system of activities aimed at the development of psychological competence provides for the use of game technology: the joint organization of solutions to case situations by teams of teachers and students allows you to see a variety of ways to solve interaction problems and ensures the development of the necessary skills. The results obtained can be used in corporate training as part of advanced training programs.
