Annotation The introduction of a project approach into the educational process in mathematics helps to develop students’ project thinking, which is so necessary for a high-demand university graduate, and prepares them to work in a modern innovative environment. This paper presents a study on the implementation of interdis ciplinary project work as part of the development of specialized mathematical disciplines. Such work allows university students to form associative links between a mathematical model and real life situations that can serve as a starting point for decision-making. The project approach, aimed at integrating knowledge and skills in mathematics and economics has practical significance and usefulness in the study of specialized mathematical disciplines, because the use of interdisciplinary projects allows us to illustrate the fundamental mathematical content. The purpose of this study is to identify the possibilities of using the project approach in the process of studying specialized mathematical disciplines. The methodological basis of the research is project-based and practice-oriented approaches. Research methods: theoretical; empirical. The paper presents examples of projects proposed for the development of students of mathematical training areas of higher education institutions. The projects are presented in the context of sections of mathematics and contain a description of the relevant mathematical and economic apparatus. The toolkit is advisory in nature and can be selected depending on the studied mathematical discipline and the level of financial literacy of a particular student. The approach under consideration is a series of both students and university teachers, including the integration of mathematics and economics at the level of possible concepts, methods and approaches to solving problems in various branches of mathematics. As part of the study, a survey of university students was conducted, which was conducted in two stages. The results of the work can be used in the educational process of higher educational institutions.
