The article identifies and analyzes the main aspects of sense being. They are invariable attributes
that remain the same in the transformation process of cultural sense, and variable characteristics. The
author distinguishes the attributes and characteristics on the basis of philosophical literature that presents
the analysis of different cultural sense states. The attributes of cultural sense are ideality, intersubjectivity
and anthropocentricity. The characteristics are grouped into five binary pairs, indicating the
possibility of sense to possess opposite qualities. The intensity of each sense characteristic in the distinguished
oppositions depends on various factors. The personal aspect of these factors is determined
by the degree of socialization and enculturation, professional and cultural affiliation of the subject of
semantic processes. The socio-cultural group of factors includes the level of social relations development,
the type of dominant ideology and the presence of a variety of semiotic systems.
