| Annotation |
The article considers the problem of the formation of professional competencies in the preparation of bachelors in teacher education. Particular attention is paid to the profiles “Preschool education” and “Primary education”. The main provisions of the World Young Professionals Championship (“WorldSkills Russia”) are disclosed as an international non-profit movement, whose goal is to enhance the prestige of various professions and develop vocational education by harmonizing the best practices and professional standards worldwide through the organization and holding of professional skills competitions both nationally and internationally. The mission of this movement is considered as the development of professional competencies, enhancing the prestige of highly qualified personnel, a demonstration of the importance of competencies for economic growth and personal success. The goals and tasks of the regional stages of the Championship are revealed to enhance the prestige of various pedagogical professions. The article discusses the rules and requirements for professional competencies “Preschool education” and “Teaching in junior classes” and gives characteristics of the students’ professional skills demonstrated during the regional championship “Young professionals” (“WorldSkills Russia”) in the Trans-Baikal Region – 2017.
