The article presents the results of the introduction of 20 species and varieties of Hostain the forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia and describes the morphological features of the leaf and flower
structure. The article studies the rhythm of the growth and development of the introduced species: Hosta albo-marginata, H. fortunei, H. decorate, H. lancifolia, H. plantaginea, H. sieboldiana, H. undulata, H.
ventricosa, H. crispula, H. kikutu, H. rectifolia. The author describes the following varieties: France,
Golden Tiara, White Beauty, Night before Christmas, Pacific Blue, Stiletto, Gould Tune. It is established
that according to long-term data, the beginning of the Hostaregeneration in the forest-steppe zone of
Western Siberia was observed on May 15–30, when the daily temperatures exceeded +15 оСand the
soil warmed up to 10
о
C. The duration of the vegetation period from regrowth to resistant frosts made up
98–112 days. The duration of flowering of one generative spring was 35–45 days. On average, the decorativeness of all types of Hostalasted from July to September until the onset of sustained autumn
frosts. Six types of morphological structure of the leaf blade were identified: rounded-ovate, ovate-oblong, sagittate, cordate, lanceolate, linear-oblong. The flower color varied from white to purple, including
different shades. There were from 10 to 55 pcs. in the inflorescence. All types of Hostaadapt well in the
forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia, despite the fact that it is a heat-loving culture. The article describes the Hostacharacteristics. As a result of introductory testing, all types of Hostaare recommended
for landscaping as plant indicators of urban and rodeside conditions.
