Convergence is a process that in the coming decades can completely change not only the systems of mass media and communications, but also a variety of professional activities, including the sphere of training and retraining personnel. The model is developed and introduced in the educational process at the Faculty of Journalism of the South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk) and for the first time is structured at the professional-integrated, didactic and practical-forming levels of realization. The study uses the systematic, structural-functional, complex and other methods of the scientific analysis and substantiates the methods of correlation of the educational process with continuous practical activities of students-journalists in convergent media production. The innovative model of training journalists can be effectively used in the educational process of other high schools in the context of the needs of modern mass media journalists of the universal type.
