Annotation Spatial organization of the assimilatory tissue of Ginkgo biloba L. leaf blades was studied. Differentiation signs of chlorenchyma on parenchyma sheath cells and mesophyll cells are revealed. The cells of the first group are extended along veins and surround endodermis in several layers. Their cellular walls are straight or with a small sinuosity. The cells of the second group are located between vascular bundles and differentiate by complicated configurations. With various wide protuberances and folds they are focused by the largest projections to epidermises. At the same time they display folding in a vertical direction that is especially characteristic for the upper layers of the chlorenchyma. The similar structure allows combining features of palisade and spongy cells.
