Annotation The purpose of this paper is the analysis of social and cultural context of researches realized by Russian scientists in the field of general problems of social security in Russia. The author uses discourse analysis of the articles freely available at the National Digital Library (e-library). The author’s theoretical position is that Russia has been a transitive society for nearly a hundred years. A lengthy transformation of traditional society into an industrial one burdened with political, economic, social and cultural disasters determines a special form of consciousness that is typical for subjects of culture with unfinished modernization. The paper analyzes the theories of scholars who studied and explained the nature of this form of consciousness. The results of the study lead to the conclusion that many researchers are agents of consciousness which is characterized by inconsistency of arguments and measures proposed to ensure social security in Russia.
Key words cultural text, discourse analysis, social security, social and cultural situation in Russia, cultural values.
