Annotation The final novel by F. M. Dostoyevsky «the Brothers Karamazov» holds the special place in the multifaceted writer’s creativity and is his unique spiritual Testament. The author makes a brief excursus into the ideological content of the previous novels, examines the evolution of his views on socio-political problems of life in Russia in the 19th century. In this context, the actions of all writer’ works are done, and the author paid special attention on the family issues. Relations between close people were extremely the point to the writer to worry about, where he saw a reflection of the processes taking place in the state and society. S. M. Kaznacheyev emphasizes that being subtle psychologist Dostoevsky with stunning craftsmanship shows the kinks of human lives and people’s behavior in conflict situations. Especially brightly their statements appear at the level of brotherly feelings. In the center of author’s attention is the problem of the concept «Brotherhood» presented in the work of the great realist writer. Kaznacheyev considers different manifestations of the spirit of Dostoevsky’s heroes. Literary critic draws attention to the fact that in the history of folklore there were people being close relatives: the brothers Grimm, Veselovskys, Aksakovs, Kireevskie etc. Thus, the conclusion is that the sense of personal unity helped them to understand the principles of folk aesthetics. Special attention is paid to the loss of unity among people, that the writer perceived as a dangerous portent of the coming of the public-political cataclysms. In the final part of the article the attention is paid to the further development of the Russian literature, where many writers, the successors of Dostoevsky’ traditions, understood the depiction of the family relations between close people as an important task.
