Annotation the monastic system of Buryatia. The book analysis has been done on the DB of Buddhist scholastic literature “Choira” collection of the Center of Oriental manuscripts and xylographs (IMBTS SB RAS) and traditional bibliographic catalogues (garchaks) of the largest Buddhist centers of Buryatia (the XIX – beginning of the XX centuries). The paper reveals the fact that Jamyang Shepa (1648–1722) [‘Jam dbyangs bzhad pa ngag dbang brtson grus] was the basic author in the Parchin literature (XV–XX centuries AD) in the education system of the Buryat monasteries. He was the founder of the educational tradition of the Goman Faculty [sGo mang] in Lhasa and educational tradition of the Labran [Bla brang] monastery in Amdo. All authors of this period can be looked upon as his predecessors and his followers. The article confirms the fact that due to hard work of scholars of this period the renaissance of Buddhist scholasticism has occurred in the Inner Asia. The Amdo monasteries Labran and Gumbum, Lhasa monastery – Drepung, Mongolian – Gandan, Buryat monasteries – Tsugol and Aga have played important role in this historical event.
Key words literature Parchin, Buddhist scholastic culture, Buryatia, Inner Asia.
