Annotation The article concerns the description of literary techniques manifestation of the author’s personality in the text and the role of awareness of the author’s image in the perception of the artistic text. It is proved that the reflection image of the author as an integral part of the text and the author’s subjective modality should form the basis of methods of teaching comprehension and interpretation of text and outlined specific ways of learning receptions reconstruction and analysis of the image of the author in the course of work on the artistic text. The author of the article proves that perceiving and understanding a literary text by school students can be adequate when the author’s image and the author’s modality are taken into consideration. However, the empiric evidence allows us to make the following conclusion: school students do not always take the author’s personality and image into account. The reason lies in the fact that the author’s personality is an implicit part of the text that can be understood by means of the extralinguistic information, and the latter is not always familiar for school students. The author suggests the techniques to tide over this difficulty. The tasks designed by the author can help students realize the signs of the author’s image in the texts and consider them in the interpreting activity.
Key words education perception and interpretation of the text, image of the author, author’s subjective modality, ability to see the manifestation of the author’s mind in the text, literary text
