Annotation The ability to constantly develop professionally should already be established in the process of training, both during classroom activities and independent and out-of-class work of students. At the same time, attention should be paid, first of all, to the students’ independent work. This area of training often remains unorganized and spontaneous. As a result, the possibility of independent learning is not used by students in full. The formation of an effective teacher should be built on an integrative basis, when all the assignments offered to students, even for the improvement of knowledge, are structured, and combine both a theoretical component and practice-oriented technologies. As the results of the experiment show, project and independent work integration allows to form a well-educated specialist who has good analytical skills and is capable of self-development. As part of the experiment, students worked on a project assignment, which helped them structure their knowledge, apply different search approaches, analyze and synthesize the information they had. In addition, students noted that they had understood the technology of carrying out projects on their own experience and were going to apply it during their pedagogic practice at school.
Key words continuous professional development, independent work, integration of theoretical and practice-oriented approaches, knowledge, self-improvement, professional development
