Annotation The article highlights the issues of teaching listening for foreign students in a medical school. The author describes the types of assignments of the electronic textbook created by the teachers of S. Asfendiyarov KazNMU. Using the examples of exercises on developing listening skills, the author shows that their systematic use helps to optimize the learning process of Russian speech perception skills. The methods we applied involved theoretical analysis and synthesis in the generalization of literary sources, electronic resources for educational purposes; expert-analytical method of assessing the quality of the electronic means of education created with the participation of the author; method of monitoring the process of speech activity of foreign students in a medical school in Russian; method of interviewing foreign students; experimental method aimed at assessing the effectiveness of the proposed models of RCT in a medical school. Results of a pedagogical experiment on teaching listening show that the level of listening skills formation in the experimental group was 59 %, in the control group – 33 %. Level of understanding of the special text in experimental group was 44 %, in in the control group – 30 %. Students have gained low point when they retold the text. The conclusion can be drawn that use of the electronic textbook helped the students of the experimental group to show higher results than those in the control group. Hence, the work on developing listening skills using the electronic textbook was an important factor in improving the educational level of foreign students in the medical school.
