The paper reviews the history of teaching physics in medical high school, highlights
changes in the content of the physics course studied at the stomatological department
and emphasizes the inclusion of the questions connected with the mechanical
characteristics of solids in this course. Studying these questions is especially
important for dental students as this knowledge is actual for dentists’ professional
activity.
