Annotation The paper analyzes the main mechanisms for managing the system updates of additional professional training in universities and shows the dynamics of continuing additional professional education modernization influence on a motivational component of the faculty performance and increase of the university ranking among humanitarian and pedagogical and linguistic universities in Russia. It also describes the effect of involving leading university professors in the new ideology of additional professional education and their development of the conceptual framework of the learners’ competence model on the indices of demand for research results and their introduction into educational practice. The authors emphasize the effective organization of modular training programs on the principles of networking, inviting experts from leading universities and educational institutions in the country to ensure the modernization of education in the Russian Federation. The authors also point out possible prospects of continuing additional professional education in the structure of a classical university.
