Annotation This article is devoted to cultural analysis of the traditional sports festival («Eryn Gurban Naira-Naadam » («Three games of men»)), which occupies essential, system role in the structure of the Mongolian festive calendar. The unity of human, nature and society is reflected in festival as the most important mechanism to preserve the traditions of culture and ensure its variability. The author shares position of Chinese scientists about Naadam festival as the most massive Mongols festival and actualizes the idea of Naadam festival belongs to the category of steppe nomadic culture’s system festivals, which role is strictly defined. Relevance of festival cultural role research has a great practical importance for understanding the mechanics of the historic and cultural continuity; influence of continuous cultural tradition on socio-cultural reproduction of leading cultural patterns; determination of traditions authenticity, which have cultural and educational potential providing ethno-cultural and social identity organization. The holiday studied in article is the cultural instrument of preservation of traditional values, ensuring continuity and dynamic development of the steppe culture. Influence of idea of time and space in steppe culture is being analyzed. The lack of nomadic culture attachment to a particular place of residence and the ability to adapt to difficult conditions of life, the vast expanse of steppe, wide dispersion of the population over the huge territory of steppe had a strong influence on the formation of a holistic way of world order, tengrism. Interdependence of way of life and world view created unique features of Naadam festival as proof nomadic culture uniqueness.
