In the connection with the 35th anniversary of the Institute of Natural Resources, Ecology and Cryology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the paper provides information on its creation, formation and development, the evolution of scientific directions of notable scientific achievements, scientific Institute contacts in various areas of research in academic institutions of Russia and foreign scientists in China, Mongolia, Japan and other countries. The article presents the most important applied researches of the Institute for Zabaikalsky krai and the system of aggregation of multidisciplinary research developed in the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the super program “Siberia”, as well as integration projects, it addresses environmental issues at the world level, resource, environmental, economic and cross-border problems of Transbaikalia. Directors
that have lead the Institute for 35 years are listed, the specificity of their personnel policies and scientificorganizational
activity is summarized.
