Annotation |
Foreign languages education is a multidimensional phenomenon which is presented in several aspects. In
the historical and cultural aspect foreign language education belongs to basic archetypes of the European culture
and is closely connected with religious education. Being an educational phenomenon, teaching of foreign languages
is one of subsystems of the national educational system whose purpose is training and education of pupils
by means of foreign languages that have positive influence on their cultural and creative development. The educational
aspect of teaching of foreign languages is directed toward the moral development of students on the basis of
the dialogue of foreign and native cultures. The basic recent tendencies of Russian education have been synchronous
teaching of foreign languages and teaching of foreign cultures, language pluralism, professionally centered
training of foreign languages, pragmatic, communicative approach to learning of foreign languages. However, the
main purpose of teaching foreign languages is the development of cognitive and moral spheres, the formation of a
highly educated student’s personality.
