| Annotation |
In the process of large-scale transformations of all spheres of society activities, life quality
studying of the population allows researchers to receive the idea of social development level of the
Russian regions. Life quality assessment of the population at the regional level enables to define the
mechanisms of transition to a social policy aimed to improve the residents’ life quality as a significant
goal and the future will depend on its achievement. The paper presents the results of the population
life quality monitoring in Zabaikalsky krai. It deals with the characteristic of some indicators of life
quality in Zabaikalye. The category ‘life quality’ is considered in the context of social development
of the region. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the need to develop the concept of life quality
in non-classical sociology. The results of the study demonstrate the need to arrange research on the
population life quality systematically. The main purpose of the research should be providing the
effectiveness of the regulation mechanisms of social development of the region.
