Annotation The article is devoted to a comparative study of the viability of students with disabilities and students in the developmental standard. Reduced physical and psychological health indicators increase anxiety of students with disabilities about the duration and quality of their professional career. The personal factors of compensating such anxiety acquire various forms, including destructive ones, disorienting students in the search for the most optimal ways to solve meaningful life tasks. The large outflow of students with disabilities from universities is associated with low indicators of the resilience and unwillingness of universities to provide the material and technical capabilities of the “continuous vertical” of inclusive higher education. The purpose of the study is to identify significant factors and mechanisms for the development of the resilience of students with disabilities. Resilience is considered as an integral characteristic of a person, allowing a person to actively resist stressful effects and turn them into new opportunities for personal development. The psychological factors that ensure the viability of students with disabilities are highlighted: their involvement in the process of their own professionalization and risk acceptance on the quality of the process and the result of productive professionalization. The leading mechanism of unproductive professionalization is determined by the low choice of strategy of assuming responsibility for the success of a future professional career.
