Annotation The article reveals the specifics of modern preschool children’s ideas about money, their significance and value, as well as approaches to the formation of financial literacy of children, taking into account current trends in pre-school education, social order and the development of a preschool child. In the process of studying the ideas of children, conditions and factors that predetermine the method of work in this direction, theoretical foundations of the economic education of children of preschool age were studied; the history of the development of the work system that ensures the financial literacy of children and adolescents in Russia and abroad is described as well. Domestic and foreign experience in the organization of economic education was analyzed, as well as the conditions, problems and prospects for the socio-economic education of children of preschool age. The result of the study was a factual array of ideas of senior preschoolers about money, their value and value. The conditions for organizing children’s economic education were monitored. Design, development and testing of approaches to the organization of pre-financial literacy formation of children of senior preschool age were created. The readiness of teachers to carry out this work, orientation of a modern parent to the values of labor education in the family, was studied. The theoretical and practical significance of the study is that its results can be used by supervisors in working with educators and in organizing educational situations on the formation of pre-financial literacy. The integration of various approaches has allowed creating an integral system of conditions for the organization of educational activities in the field of economics for children. The special value of it lies in the fact that its implementation ensures immersion into the integrative environment of the modern social situation of a child’s development.
