Annotation The aim of the article is to describe techniques of teaching Russian using social network “VKontakte” on the basis of the work experience at the lyceum of the Transbaikal State University. The rules of the communicative, reflective and systemic activity approaches, the idea of the educational subject have become the basis of the research. The author gives her methods of the team and individual work with lyceum students in the Russian social network “VKontakte” which she has worked out and has tried since 2018. The article shows the value of this kind of practice during distance learning and at traditional form as well. The article introduces different points of view of the modern scientists on the social network usage problem in teaching and upbringing, describes various kinds of posts – addresses/messages, published on the wall (a part of the personal page of the user under the photos) of the social page which are used to teach, inform and motivate the students, regulating their activity and so on. The scientific originality includes complex description of the method of teaching Russian using the social network “VKontakte”. The research proves that this method gives positive results and not only allows to make teaching Russian qualified and exciting but performs a lot of upbringing aims. The prospects of the research are seen in the expansion of the educational functions of the social network by creating conversations and communities with students dedicated to discussing issues related, firstly, to the preparation for the final certification, and secondly, to the popularization of the Russian language and the culture of speech in society.
