The authors’ appeal to the problem of pedagogy of a literary text and its educational potential is due to the possibilities of developing creative abilities, reader’s perception and imagination, etc. The novelty lies in the fact that the authors consider the educational component as an instrument of familiarization with Russian national culture, traditions of the people, their worldview, traditions and fundamentals of professional activity, which have been developing for hundreds of years, and also in the use of the means and possibilities of a literary text in the educational process. The purpose of the article is to analyze the methods and techniques of working with a literary text in the implementation of educational work in the process of professional training. The paper presents specific methods and techniques for analyzing a literary text that allow achieving this goal. The following methods are used in this study: the method of historical and pedagogical research, the method of introspection and pedagogical longitudinal study in the educational process, and the analysis of creative works. The selection and formulation of questions and tasks is carried out taking into account the age-related psychological characteristics of the students. The conclusions are formulated on the basis of the results obtained. The authors consider the proposed system of creative questions and tasks to be the result of the work, which can be used as a sample of the analysis of artistic works included in the system of vocational training at the university. The theoretical significance of the article is the analysis of scientific publications on the problem. The practical significance of the publication consists in the proposed methodological material for use in literature lessons, and in the realization of educational potential in professional training. The authors propose a system of questions and tasks based on the story of I. Efremov “Diamond Pipe”, tested in extracurricular reading and extracurricular activities (module 6 “Professional and labor education” FGBOU VO “Southwestern University” training direction 05/21/04 Mining).
