Annotation The modern educational environment is being transformed by digital technologies that enhance learning efficiency. Among them, educational podcasts offer accessibility, mobility, and interactivity. They are especially useful for preparing high school students for the Unified State Exam (USE) in Russian, as they diversify traditional methods and improve material retention. However, the methodology for developing and applying such podcasts remains underexplored. This study analyzes educational podcasts as an innovative tool for USE preparation, assesses their effectiveness, and offers practical recommendations. The hypothesis is that systematic podcast use increases student motivation and exam performance. Qualitative and quantitative methods were applied: literature analysis, surveys of students (128) and teachers (12), and a pedagogical experiment. The educational project “Coffee with a Tutor” was created – a podcast series with worksheets covering key USE sections (“Spelling,” “Punctuation,” “Grammar,” “Essay”). Testing was conducted in St. Petersburg schools. The survey showed high student interest: 51 % listen to podcasts multiple times per month, preferring conversational formats (60 %) and educational topics (41 %). Both students and teachers noted the format’s convenience (84,6 % positive feedback) and effective task analysis (76,9 %). The podcasts improved engagement and learning outcomes. Educational podcasts have proven effective as a supplementary tool for USE preparation. Future research may include expanding the testing audience, adapting content to exam updates, developing interactive worksheets, and creating a dedicated educational podcast platform. This approach can also be adapted to other school subjects. The proposed technology can be adapted for other school subjects.
